New Writing North is looking for a freelance writer to write up a number of short case studies that will summarise the advice and guidance gleaned from our Digital Literature seminar programme, which covers topics such as e-books, podcasting and marketing your brand as a writer. The writer will be expected to attend and write up four events during April/May. The case studies will feature on the New Writing North website in the Resources section and must be delivered by the end of July 2018.
We are looking for a writer with journalistic skills who is accurate and imaginative and who has some background understanding of writing and publishing. The work produced will be of various lengths, to be agreed when the seminar programme is finalised. You will work with New Writing North’s team to finalise the structure of the pieces once commissioned.
The fee for undertaking this work, for attending four events and for writing and editing four case studies is £1,000 inclusive of travel.
This project is part of our new Digital Literature suite of training opportunities and events that aim to build the digital skills and knowledge of writers in the North East. The aim of the Digital Literature programme is to support writers to identify and learn about opportunities related to digital forms of production and distribution, to improve how writers create and manage their brands and professional profile online and to inspire new knowledge, projects and ideas through access to expert advice and peer-to-peer support.
The programme is funded by Creative Fuse North East, which means that we are able to offer the opportunities free of charge and in some cases support participants with a bursary to support engagement.
